Job summary

PolyPeptide US in Torrance, CA is seeking a Development Scale-Up Engineer to bridge process development and production for peptide manufacturing. You will develop, optimize, scale up and scale down unit operations, collaborating with chemists to ensure smooth transfer to full-scale manufacturing.

You will apply DOE, process modeling, and data analysis to reduce bottlenecks, improve yields and throughput, and support cost and capacity planning while leveraging Lean/Six Sigma in a GMP setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support.
• Experience with GMP-regulated environments and quality systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scale up and scale down unit operations in peptide manufacturing.
• Collaborate with chemists to understand process requirements and constraints.
• Support smooth transfer from Process Development to full-scale manufacturing.
• Apply data analysis, DOE, SPC, and process modeling to identify bottlenecks and improve yields.
• Develop steady-state process simulation models using physical property data.
