Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Project Director to drive transformational performance in peptide API projects in the United States. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage capital programs, and align with Operations and external partners to accelerate timelines while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a strong background in engineering leadership, multi-technology experience, and the ability to deliver on business cases, cost controls, and digitalization initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS, Engineering or equivalent technical degree; Masters preferred.
• 15+ years of senior engineering / projects leadership across multiple technologies.
• Proven ability to lead large cross-functional teams and interact with senior leadership.
• Experience with capital projects, budgeting, and compliance with EHS standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to achieve milestones of peptide manufacturing projects in the US.
• Manage complex capital projects ensuring timely, compliant delivery.
• Ensure compliance with AbbVie EHS standards and zero incidents in construction.
• Develop strategies for concept studies, design, procurement, and contracting.
• Drive AI and digitalization to improve project management and execution.
• Oversee from business case to contract negotiations and budgeting.
• Meet scope, schedule, and cost targets with quality conformance.
• Collaborate with procurement, QA, R&D and external partners.
• Provide risk management and KPI reporting to steering committees.
