OVERVIEW:

Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Associate for our Fund Management Solutions team, open to all US locations. Our team collaborates with private equity managers to optimize their operations, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce risks in non-investing aspects of their businesses. We provide hands-on operational support to help PE firms improve and streamline their functions.

Professional Expectations

Data Collection, Validation, and Analysis

• Develop information requests based on project scope
• Lead client interviews to gather meaningful data
• Identify information gaps through trend analysis and pattern recognition
• Challenge assumptions with fact-based analytics
• Deep dive into relevant data to improve management reporting and develop reliable forecasts
• Create storyline messages supported by facts and analyses, ensuring data consistency and branding standards

Project Management and Implementation

• Own and complete workstreams within the Fund Management Solutions pillars
• Review and contribute to all work products, ensuring logical and accurate client deliverables
• Set and align realistic timelines with clients
• Develop financial models (e.g., three-statement forecasts, liquidity forecasts) and client presentations independently
• Design bespoke solutions with creative approaches as needed

Teamwork

Financial Acumen

• Build and review financial models, perform analysis, and evaluate accounting treatments
• Provide insights and improvement initiatives to senior management and boards

Qualifications and Experience

• 3-7 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Financial Due Diligence, Investment Banking, or Private Equity, preferably at a fund/asset manager or similar
• Degree from an accredited 4-year college/university in accounting, finance, economics, or related fields (preferred but not mandatory)
• Proficiency in building integrated financial models and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills
