Job summary

Mountain Capital Partners in Durango, CO is offering an internship in the People Team, combining payroll and benefits support with executive-generalist duties. The role includes managing timesheets, benefits workflows, and travel arrangements, while gaining exposure to ski resort operations.

The intern will assist with calendar management, expense reporting, and ad-hoc analysis, plus building management tasks and AI/LLMs research. 10–30 hours/week, on-site in town.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated, able to work under minimal supervision; excellent organization and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Google Workspace; excellent spreadsheet skills a strong plus.
• Comfortable with basic payroll/benefits concepts and eager to learn HRIS/payroll tools (e.g., Paycom).
• Demonstrated curiosity about AI/LLMs — able to run short experiments, summarize findings, and document results.
• Reliable, proactive, strong attention to detail, and capable of escalating issues appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Payroll & Benefits — weekly activities: assist payroll prep and reconciliation, verify timesheets, prepare payroll packets for manager review.
• Manage benefits workflows: audit, enrollments/changes/terms; maintain documentation; ensure audit readiness.
• Executive Assistant / Generalist — calendar management, travel arrangements, expense tracking, document routing, and ad-hoc executive support (decks/spreadsheets).
• Building Management Support — maintain lease/vendor tracker, handle vendor communications and work orders, process building bills, support inspections and compliance tasks.
