Job description

Quinlan Partners is an established, privately held global due diligence, investigations and business intelligence firm based in New York City. We have served as a trusted partner to top-tier investment firms, law firms, and corporations, delivering the critical strategic intelligence required for high-stakes decisions and complex corporate litigation.

Built entirely through organic growth and sustained profitability, we are independent, successful, and continuing to scale the business. To support this growth, we are hiring our first full-time, standalone People & Talent Lead to sit in our NYC office under a hybrid model (3 days per week minimum on-site).

The Opportunity & Runway

This is a high-visibility role designed for a builder. Over the last three years, our foundational HR programs have been successfully built and managed by fractional consultants. You will inherit these established frameworks, refine them to support our next era of growth, and serve as the operational architect of our team. Because we are a flat organization, you will work directly alongside the executive leadership team.

Core Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition (40% of Focus): Lead full-cycle internal recruitment for junior-to-mid level interviewers, investigators, and researchers. You will own proactive sourcing (particularly via LinkedIn Recruiter), pipeline architecture, interview mapping, and offer execution.
  • Process Architecture & Optimization: Take ownership of the HR infrastructure established by our fractional team. You will audit, fine-tune, and scale our performance management, compensation structures, annual benefits renewals, and compliance workflows. Manage and administer various leave of absence practices.
  • Employee Relations & Culture: Maintain a high-performance, intellectually rigorous, and collaborative culture. Serve as the primary advocate and point of contact for employee engagement, professional development, internal investigations and retention strategies. Manage and drive our high-touch onboarding and learning programs.
  • NYC Compliance & Operations: Ensure seamless execution of day-to-day HR operations, benefits administration and maintain updates to relevant internal policies to ensure strict adherence to evolving NYS, NYC and other state labor laws where we have employees.
  • Leadership Advisory: Provide organizational coaching and consulting to both leadership and people managers in areas of change management, people services best practices, career advisory and employee performance.
Who You Are
  • Experience: 8–12 years of progressive HR and recruiting experience, ideally within a boutique professional services firm (consulting, legal, financial, research/intelligence, marketing) or a fast-paced startup/early-stage environment.
  • Elite Sourcing Skills: You are a highly strategic recruiter who knows how to identify, pitch, and land sharp, analytical talent both in a competitive NYC market and other Quinlan locations. Management of external search vendors.
  • Technical Capabilities: Demonstrated knowledge/experience working with the following software and systems: LinkedIn Recruiter, HR systems (Bamboo, Gusto etc.), ATS, Google suite, Slack. Implementation experience desirable.
  • The "Department of One" Mindset: You thrive on autonomy, can drive change and be a “hands‑on” practitioner. You are equally comfortable operating at a 30,000-foot strategic level with partners as you are handling day-to-day HR administration and compliance. Experience in core HR/People competencies: performance management, annual compensation processes, employee relations, culture building/programs and onboarding/employee experience.
  • Polished & Discretion-Minded: Given our industry, you possess impeccable communication skills, high emotional intelligence, guide leaders and managers on organizational change and employee issues and display absolute discretion.
What’s In It For You

In addition to working alongside some of the best and brightest talent in the industry, our team members enjoy comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage, company paid life insurance and STD/LTD coverage, a best-in‑class parental leave program, 401k retirement plan with employer matching contribution, a commuter benefits program, competitive paid time off, flexible work arrangements (hybrid), and opportunities for professional development and advancement. If you want to be part of a growing firm that is committed to providing industry‑leading investigative work for our clients as well as a great place to work for our team members, we’d love to hear from you!

Compensation commensurate with experience.
