Job summary

O'Donnell/Snider Construction in Houston seeks a hands-on People Services Generalist to manage daily HR operations including payroll, onboarding, benefits, and leave management. The role supports performance processes, maintains HRIS data, and generates reports for leadership.

You will be a trusted resource on payroll, benefits, and People Services programs within a collaborative team. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of HR experience, payroll expertise, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum of three years of progressive HR experience.
• Hands-on payroll processing experience required.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
• Experience administering employee benefits and leave programs preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent organizational, communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Own accurate and timely payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees.
• Manage payroll changes, time records, deductions, reimbursements, PTO balances and reporting.
• Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation for a welcoming experience.
• Administer employee benefits, including enrollments and life events.
• Administer employee leave programs and maintain related records.
• Maintain employee information in HRIS and payroll systems.
• Support performance reviews and maintain training records and certifications.
• Maintain employee files, People Services policies, and the Employee Handbook.
• Generate HR and payroll reports and workforce information.
• Participate in employee engagement, recognition, wellness and company activities.
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees on payroll, benefits and People Services programs.
