University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking Math Success Tutors to provide 1:1 and small-group tutoring to Scholars, with a focus on supporting first-gen, low-income, and underrepresented students. The role offers flexible scheduling and a chance to contribute to students’ academic progress.
Tutors will work 5–15 hours per week at the PEOPLE office, starting August 24, 2026. Positions include 10 openings with on-site work and a minimum starting wage of $16.00 per hour.
The Precollege Enrichment Opportunity Program for Learning Excellence (PEOPLE) started in 1999 with 66 high school students from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. PEOPLE has grown to serve over 1,100 students across three distinct units - Madison Precollege, Milwaukee Precollege, and the College Success Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Our precollege program is designed to help students become viable college candidates for UW-System institutions, with an emphasis on UW-Madison. PEOPLE will help college scholars progress toward graduation and ensure that the students' college experience is enriching; intellectually, socially, personally, and professionally.

Interest in supporting Scholars from first-gen, low-income, or other historically underrepresented backgrounds.
Experience in tutoring, academic coaching, or other forms of learning support preferred.
Employment will require UW-Madison to verify your identity and employment eligibility. The employee must physically present original, unexpired documents (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents) as evidence of identity and employment authorization.
Ability to tutor at least one of the following target courses, as showcased by B or higher in the course or related coursework. Preference given to candidates who can tutor more than one target course.
