Anthropic is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner in the San Francisco Bay Area to support the People organization, including Recruiting and Communications. You will coach senior leaders, drive HR programs, and partner with Benefits, Compensation, and Finance to scale people initiatives.

You will help build HR policies, guide employee relations, and enable strategic workforce planning to support Anthropic's mission in safe, beneficial AI systems.

About the role

We are looking for a senior HR Business Partner based in the San Francisco Bay Area to support our People organization including Recruiting and support our Communications team. This role will be a critical member of the HRBP team, working on key HR projects in alignment with our partners across Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, and others while providing excellent coaching and strategic support to senior leaders and managers across People & Comms functions who enable Anthropic's mission to create safe, beneficial AI systems. You will help build out HR policies and strategies that meet your clients' unique needs, and act as a trusted leader and guide on a wide range of employee-related topics.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders across People and Communications teams, including senior executives in these functions

• Provide support to employees and managers on all human resource-related topics throughout their lifecycle at Anthropic in partnership with other People team experts (e.g. Benefits, Compensation, etc.)

• Work closely with management to create a culture of high performance based on our values and team culture while helping ensure that performance management and employee relations issues are managed appropriately

• Act as a partner and liaison with specialist teams (e.g. Benefits, Compensation, etc.), leadership, and finance, to help Anthropic continue to implement top-tier, scalable programs and policies to attract, retain, and grow outstanding talent at Anthropic

• Work on cross-functional projects with other HRBPs and partners in specialist teams to enable and grow our Ants (e.g. Manager training, etc.)

• Partner closely with G&A leadership to support organizational design, workforce planning, and talent development initiatives specific to business-critical functions

Minimum qualifications

• Have experience operating at a fast-growing tech company in HR, and fluency with employment law and best practices in North America

• Have worked at a tech company, start-up, or a similarly fast-paced environment

• Understand the unique needs and challenges of supporting G&A functions in a high-growth environment

Preferred qualifications

• 8 + years experience working as a HRBP, People Operations, Employee Relations, Recruiting, or other closely related functions

• Have specific experience partnering with People and Comms teams in high growth tech environments.

• Have experience supporting functions that operate in highly regulated or compliance-focused environments

• Care deeply when it comes to helping and supporting a diverse set of people at all levels of an organization, excelling in supporting employees and managers to do their best work

• Have proven experience and skill sets in providing confidential, practical support and are trained in topics like conflict resolution

• Have strong working knowledge of human-resource-related best practices and are able to effectively implement these in a culturally appropriate fashion

• Be a pragmatic problem-solver and enjoy developing creative solutions

• Thrive in building and scaling processes, and enjoy identifying and setting up new systems at a quickly growing company

• Care about ensuring that advanced AI systems are developed safely, and have a deep curiosity about artificial intelligence and its potential applications
