Job summary

Atoms in San Francisco seeks an HR Operations/Process Specialist to own and improve employee lifecycle processes end-to-end. You will surface real problems, design fixes, and drive adoption across teams, guiding projects from problem statement to launch with cross-functional collaboration.

You will analyze data to identify compliance gaps, propose scalable solutions, and rapidly implement automation where appropriate. The role requires quick tool learning and cautious, quality-driven execution.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in People / HR Operations, Program Management, QA, or Compliance.
• Has rebuilt broken, manual processes end-to-end — redesign, execution, and adoption.
• Proactively analyzes data to surface compliance gaps and trends.
• Spots problems with a proposed fix, not just an observation.
• Picks up new tools quickly and uses them to improve reliability.

Responsibilities

• Process ownership: design and improve employee lifecycle processes end-to-end, surface real problems, and drive fixes and adoption.
• Project leadership: lead improvement projects from problem statement through launch with cross-team coordination.
• Efficiency & allocation: identify where work should reside and scope automation opportunities with technical teams.
• Compliance & audits: monitor HR compliance (I-9, FCRA) and mitigate risks before issues arise.
• Tools & enablement: manage People team tools and keep SOPs current for smooth execution.
