Job summary

Varda Space Industries, headquartered in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a hands-on People Manager to build and scale the People infrastructure across the company. This role partners with Finance, Legal, Payroll, Recruitment, and business leaders to drive organizational design, talent processes, and operational excellence.

You will personally run core People processes end-to-end in a fast-scaling aerospace environment, shaping People programs and driving performance across units.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive HR experience including HRBP and/or People Operations.
• Startup experience or experience building new groups within a larger company.
• Hands-on operator in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent understanding of California employment law and HR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary People Business Partner for assigned business units.
• Lead annual talent processes including performance reviews, calibration, and succession planning.
• Own onboarding, offboarding, transfers, promotions, and employee changes with speed and accuracy.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Payroll, and Recruiting to ensure seamless People operations.
