Job summary

Chesapeake Search Partners (on behalf of a financial institution) seeks an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support HR initiatives and create a positive employee experience across the organization in Maryland.

The role partners with leadership to administer core HR programs, ensure compliance with employment regulations, assist talent acquisition, manage HRIS and payroll, and contribute to a culture of engagement and high performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and compliance.
• Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and MS Office.
• SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/PHR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support HR programs: compensation, benefits, leave, performance, engagement.
• Stay current on employment laws; implement policy improvements.
• Partner with managers to foster an inclusive, high-performing culture.
• Coordinate recruitment, interviews, background checks, onboarding.
• Administer HRIS and payroll; ensure data accuracy.
