Job summary

Volvo Cars is seeking an Employee Relations Manager in Ridgeville, SC to lead workforce relations, develop labor strategies for non-union facilities, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. You will partner with leaders, manage union relations, oversee investigations, coach managers, monitor legislation, and drive engagement programs across the Americas.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year degree in HR or a related field.
• Eight+ years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing.
• Experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
• Extensive knowledge of employment legislation including ADA, FMLA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders at all levels to ensure consistent application and timely resolution of employee relations issues.
• Design, implement, and update comprehensive labor strategy for non-union facilities. Lead responses to organizing campaigns from detection through NLRB processes.
• Lead collective bargaining negotiations and manage contract administration, strategic planning, and viability for unionized sites.
• Build constructive relationships with union representatives and manage communications.
• Apply employee relations expertise to identify trends, mitigate risk, and develop solution-focused strategies.
• Oversee the employee relations investigations process for the Americas, including complex investigations into harassment, discrimination, misconduct, and policy violations.
• Provide coaching to managers on labor affairs and performance management, including disciplinary issues.
• Regularly monitor labor and employment legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Collaborate with legal, internal and external, on employment-related matters.
• Develop and implement team member engagement strategies to foster a positive climate.
• Advise managers on PX practices, policies, and employment laws.
• Design strategies to attract and retain a skilled, diverse workforce.
• Manage projects, create charters, plans, dashboards, and progress updates.
