Job summary

The Joseph in Nashville, a Luxury Collection Hotel, seeks an experienced People + Culture Generalist to join our People + Culture team. This hands-on role partners with the Director of People + Culture to manage team member relations, performance, onboarding, benefits, payroll, and compliance in a luxury hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive HR/People + Culture experience, preferably in a generalist capacity.
• Hospitality, luxury hotels, or high-touch service environment experience preferred.
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, payroll coordination, HRIS systems.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Team Member Relations & Manager Support: serve as a trusted People + Culture resource for team members and leaders; provide coaching to managers; foster a positive workplace culture; address trends with leadership; maintain confidentiality.
• Performance Management & Investigations: manage performance processes; coach on documentation and actions; conduct investigations; gather statements; maintain documentation.
• Onboarding & Team Member Lifecycle: oversee lifecycle from recruitment to separation; ensure onboarding documentation; manage transfers and promotions.
• Benefits & Leave Administration: handle benefits eligibility and enrollment; coordinate with vendors; administer leaves and return-to-work processes; payroll liaison.
• Compliance & Policy Administration: support employment law compliance; maintain records; I-9 compliance; safety and workers' comp processes.
• Team Member Engagement & Culture: support engagement initiatives; coordinate events; reinforce The Joseph culture and guiding principles.
• Workforce Planning & Reporting: monitor staffing, prepare reports, track turnover and recruitment metrics; use data to support decisions.
