Job description

We are a premium bamboo apparel and accessories brand that designs, sells, and ships the most adorable baby and toddler pajamas — right here in the heart of Texas — which means our HR team is just as at home on the warehouse floor as they are in a conference room. We're looking for an HR Generalist who is equal parts people-person and operational powerhouse.

This is a true generalist seat. You will own the full employee lifecycle, from the moment a candidate applies through their last day, while also being the go-to partner for our fulfillment and e-commerce teams on anything people-related. You'll juggle recruiting, onboarding, payroll administration, employee relations, and culture-building without missing a beat. If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and love bringing order to complexity, this role was built for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for hourly fulfillment roles, corporate positions, and everything in between
  • Partner with hiring managers to define roles, write compelling job postings, and move candidates through the process with urgency
  • Deliver a best-in-class onboarding experience — from offer letter to Day 30 check-in — ensuring new hires feel welcomed and set up for success
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and ensure data integrity across all recruiting activity
Payroll & HR Administration
  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time for a diverse workforce including hourly, salaried, and overtime-eligible employees
  • Maintain HRIS records, personnel files, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
  • Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and vendor coordination; serve as the first point of contact for employee benefit questions
  • Manage leave of absence requests, accommodations, and related documentation
Employee Relations
  • Build genuine relationships across all levels of the organization — from the fulfillment floor to the executive suite
  • Handle employee relations matters with empathy, consistency, and sound judgment; escalate complex issues appropriately
  • Conduct investigations in a thorough, impartial, and timely manner
  • Partner with managers on performance management, coaching conversations, PIPs, and corrective action
  • Manage offboarding and conduct exit interviews; surface trends and bring forward actionable recommendations
Culture & Employee Engagement
  • Plan and execute employee events, recognition programs, and team-building initiatives that reflect our brand and values
  • Champion an inclusive, high-performance culture — especially in the fulfillment environment where engagement directly impacts productivity
  • Act as a visible, trusted presence on the floor; maintain open-door energy at all times
Compliance, Safety & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure all HR practices comply with applicable employment law; keep policies and the employee handbook current
  • Support safety initiatives and workers' compensation processes in partnership with operations leadership. Be familiar with OSHA operating standards in a warehouse setting.
  • Maintain employee certificates and needed renewal training as needed
  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve the employee experience — then go implement them
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience & Education
  • 3–6 years of HR Generalist experience, with meaningful exposure to high-volume, hourly workforce environments (fulfillment, distribution, retail, or manufacturing preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; PHR/SHRM-CP a plus
  • Hands-on payroll processing experience required; familiarity with platforms such as ADP, Paylocity, or similar
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, and applicable state/local labor laws
  • Demonstrated recruiting experience across both hourly and professional roles
Skills & Attributes
  • Exceptionally organized — you keep multiple projects moving simultaneously without anything slipping through the cracks
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly around data, documentation, and compliance
  • Strong business acumen — you understand how HR decisions impact operations, cost, and the customer experience
  • Relatable communicator who can connect authentically with a warehouse associate and a VP in the same afternoon
  • Self-starter mentality; comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate difficult conversations with grace
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; experience with an HRIS and ATS
WHY JOIN US
  • Direct impact at a brand doing real volume — your work affects thousands of people every day
  • A true ground-floor HR opportunity — this is a one-person team today, which means you’ll have the autonomy and ownership to build the HR function from the ground up as we grow and expand
  • Competitive compensation + performance bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, and vision with 80% employer-paid premiums
  • PTO (Paid Time Off) and company holidays
