Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert/Functional Area Expert (SME/FAE) to support a DoD mission in the National Capital Region, Washington, D.C. The role is onsite at the Pentagon, Monday through Friday, requiring deep DoD proficiency, policy insight, and senior-level collaboration.

The candidate will lead requirements, provide strategic guidance, and translate complex analyses into actionable plans for senior DoD leaders, with extensive DoD program

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher is required.
• At least 20 years of DoD/OSD/WHS or equivalent federal experience.
• Ability to analyze complex environments and advise senior decision-makers.
• Strong written and verbal communication for senior government audiences.
• Expert knowledge of DoD resources planning and policy.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, supervises, and develops project requirements from inception to conclusion.
• Provide strategic advice, technical guidance, and SME input to teams.
• Perform detailed analysis and develop recommendations for system changes.
• Coordinate with clients to define needs and lead studies to collect data.
• Draft senior executive decision documents based on enterprise analyses.
• Support DoD resource planning and strategy formulation.
• Communicate with senior executives across DoD and agencies.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex management challenges.
• Conduct analyses of complex issues and propose actionable plans.
• Assist in coordinating organizational activities to meet priorities.
• Evaluate improvements for admin functions including HR, budget, and security.
• Draft high-caliber decision documents reflecting enterprise issues.
