Job summary

New York Life is seeking a Pension Risk Transfer Benefits & Implementation Associate to help convert complex pension promises into secure, payable retirement benefits. You’ll analyze large participant datasets, interpret contract provisions, and perform benefit calculations while collaborating with actuaries, IT, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; strong analytical and quantitative aptitude.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, actuarial support, financial operations, or related analytical role.
• Proficiency with Excel and data reconciliation; familiarity with SQL, Python, or other data tools is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Interest in learning provisions of group annuity contracts and related calculations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, reconcile, and validate large participant datasets for alignment across systems.
• Perform complex benefit calculations, including lump sums and census-based adjustments.
• Interpret group annuity contract provisions and apply them to calculations and configurations.
• Support installation and conversion of group annuity contracts with data setup and coordination.
• Participate in client and internal sessions to track progress and resolve issues.
• Assist service teams with participant inquiries, claims, and death processing.
• Contribute to process improvements, testing, and efficiency initiatives.
• Take ownership of defined workstreams within larger projects under supervision.
