Job summary

Corebridge Financial is seeking a pension underwriting professional with actuarial or defined benefit expertise in the US.

You will underwrite pension risks, perform actuarial calculations, draft commitment agreements, and lead onboarding across internal functions; also support call center with benefit calculations and contract provisions.

This role offers opportunities across multiple locations, with a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Defined benefit pension experience and ability to interpret complex pension provisions.
• Ability to draft pension provisions and related documents.
• Experience in Pricing, Valuation, Actuarial Modeling, Pension Administration or Contract work.
• Pension benefit calculation modeling, testing, or production experience.
• Strong project management skills; comfortable with ambiguity.
• Knowledge of governance best practices and controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Copilot and VBA a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication; ability to explain complex topics clearly.

Responsibilities

• Explain technical actuarial/pension topics to senior leadership.
• Be the defined benefit pension expert within the company.
• Assess pension risks, calculate premiums, and customize contract terms.
• Guide onboarding and lead cross-functional collaboration.
• Design governance, controls, processes and procedures.
• Review actuarial calculations and methodologies in a controlled environment.
• Execute actuarial model risk management including development/testing.
• Support Operations/Valuation teams to implement new business for accurate reporting.
• Think creatively and lead projects with sound judgment.
