Job summary

Nucor Building Systems Indiana (NBSIN) is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer with 4+ years in PEMB to support complex project design, estimating, value engineering, and sales strategy. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, estimating, and sales, applying technical expertise early in the project lifecycle.

You will engineer complex opportunities, drive value engineering, and partner with Sales and customers to translate project requirements into effective building

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil/Architectural Engineering from ABET-accredited school.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in the Pre-Engineered Metal Building industry.

Responsibilities

• Engineer complex project opportunities using advanced estimating tools and design software to develop practical, competitive structural solutions.
• Drive value engineering to improve structural efficiency, product application, constructability, and project economics.
• Partner with Sales and customers as a technical resource for District Sales Managers and builders.
• Influence projects early by providing technical input on scope requirements and developing strategies balancing design, risk, and cost.
• Oversee estimates and mentor quote engineers and estimators within the department.
• Collaborate with Estimating and Design Supervisors to refine processes for competitive design solutions.
• Collaborate with Sales leadership across multiple brands to enhance project competitiveness.
• Provide technical support to customers remotely and on-site; travel ~25%.
