Job summary

UW Medical Center – Northwest is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist specialized in pelvic health to join our Sports Therapy team in Seattle. The role focuses on pelvic rehabilitation for perimenopausal mothers, athletes, and patients with incontinence, with a 26-hour workweek and day shifts.

The therapist will serve as the pelvic health SME, conduct initial evaluations, monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and train patients and families for home programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience as a physical therapist.
• Experience in pelvic health rehabilitation.
• Current Washington State license to practice as a Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial evaluation and determination of appropriate pelvic rehabilitation needs
• Evaluate and monitor patient’s progression and makes appropriate adjustments to treatment plan to achieve maximum benefit
• Administer position and exercises, massage, and other treatments to relieve pain, increase flexibility and strength, and decrease patient’s disability
• Train patients in exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living
• When appropriate, establish a home program to encourage patient involvement and independence
• Train patient and family members in home treatment procedures
• Confer with patient, medical practitioners and appropriate others to plan, implement, and assess the treatment program
