Job summary

Bright Harbor Healthcare seeks a Peer Wellness & Recovery Specialist in Toms River, NJ. This full-time role focuses on peer support, wellness coaching, and resource navigation for participants in the Code Red/Code Blue programs.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, case management, and connecting individuals to housing, healthcare, and recovery services while maintaining trauma-informed, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) preferred.
• Lived experience in recovery and/or homelessness preferred.
• Ability to transport participants as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides peer support, coaching, and wellness/recovery groups.
• Supports individuals in identifying and achieving wellness and recovery goals.
• Provides case management and connects individuals to benefits and community resources.
• Assists with referrals, applications, and warm handoffs with community providers.
• Connects individuals to substance use treatment and recovery services.
• Builds relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
• Assists individuals experiencing homelessness with housing resources and transportation as needed.
• Uses trauma-informed, non-stigmatizing communication.
• Provides crisis intervention and participates in emergency coverage as needed.
• Maintains documentation and supports safe center operations.
