Palmer College Foundation is seeking PASS tutor work-study students to support the P.A.S.S. program at the Florida Campus in Port Orange, starting in the fall term. Applicants must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 3.5 GPA in the course being reviewed; a science background is preferred. Interviews begin in October with a flexible trimester schedule.

Qualifications

  • Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and have a 3.5 GPA or higher in the course they are reviewing.
  • Candidates with a background in the basic sciences are preferred.
  • Strong communication and dependable interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Attend program development sessions at the beginning of each trimester for updates.
  • Participate in team meetings with the P.A.S.S. coordinator/director.
  • Contract hours per trimester and notify changes in scheduling.
  • Arrive prepared and on time for study sessions.
  • Submit accurate timesheets as a Federal Work-Study student.
  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure study content aligns with coursework.
  • Focus on clarifying and reinforcing learning, not lecturing.
  • Maintain attendance records and log hours monthly.
  • Respect FERPA confidentiality of student information.
