Job summary

Summit Healthcare Mgmt in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to enhance treatment services from referral through discharge. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

The role includes mentoring, facilitating patient engagement, and linking patients with resources to sustain recovery. Required are a High School diploma, 3+ years in behavioral health, and Peer Specialist certification; CPR/de-escalation training is also needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Three or more years of experience in a behavioral health setting is required.
• Two or more years in an acute inpatient behavioral health setting is preferred.
• Certification as a Peer Specialist is required.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor individuals to promote decision making, empowerment and engagement.
• Liaise between individuals, clinical team and community resources.
• Advocate for patients and engage them at initial point of contact to expedite screening for appropriate care.
• Provide peer support to clinically complex patients and encourage recovery participation.
• Document services concisely and in accordance with clinical standards.
