Job summary

Summit Healthcare Mgmt is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist for an onsite role in Las Cruces, New Mexico. You will mentor patients, liaise with clinical teams, and advocate for recovery, providing peer support to promote engagement and adherence to treatment.

Responsibilities include assisting in screening, coordinating with community resources, documenting services, and supporting housing and daily living skills to sustain long-term recovery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years experience in behavioral health settings.
• 2+ years experience in acute inpatient behavioral health preferred.
• Certification as a Peer Specialist required.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint training required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor individuals to promote decision making and engagement.
• Liaise between individuals, clinical team and community resources.
• Advocate for patients and support recovery goals.
• Assist with screening for appropriate level of care.
• Provide peer support and guidance to promote recovery.
