Felton Institute in California seeks a Peer Support Specialist to support individuals with serious mental illness, coordinating care and recovery services within the Bridge Housing site. The role requires a background in crisis intervention and recovery-oriented practices, with a focus on collaboration across social services and criminal justice partners.

The position involves intake assessments, creating service plans, and facilitating peer groups, with some evenings/weekends.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma is required; AA degree or higher is preferred.
• At least 1 year of therapeutic intervention, case management, and crisis intervention experience.
• Lived experience with mental health or substance use and prior involvement with the criminal justice system.
• Knowledge of Wellness and Recovery Model and supported employment practices.
• Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team with diverse populations.
• Food handler permit to serve food at a residential facility.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize.
• Fluent in Spanish (speaking and writing).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; documentation accuracy.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat).

Aufgaben

• Support individuals living with serious mental illness toward recovery and stability.
• Provide care, case management, mental health and substance use recovery services.
• Adhere to confidentiality laws and maintain detailed records.
• Handle intake and comprehensive assessments with adults.
• Coordinate with criminal justice, shelter, hospitals, and outpatient services.
• Assist with housing applications and employment counseling.
• Set up peer groups and participate in team meetings.
