Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support recovery and wellness by partnering with participants and treatment teams.
• Assist in planning and implementing activities to help individuals direct their own recovery.

Duties/Responsibilities

The Peer Support Specialist will provide community based, on-scene social and emotional support, advocacy and consumerinformation to (individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis). These activities are planned and implementedthrough a partnershipbetween the participantand the treatmentteam members. These activities are provided to support individuals to live theirown lives and to direct theirown recovery and wellness process.

Experience Required

A self-identified consumer of Mental health Services diagnosed with a mental illness or substance abuse disorder; attend Peer SupportTraining; have an understanding of the recovery process and how to use that process to help others. History of working crisis or residential Preferred.
