One Love Agency is hiring a full-time Peer Support Specialist (PSS) for our Pocatello office, starting immediately. You will walk alongside adults and youth in the Portneuf Valley, sharing your recovery journey to help others build hope, self-advocacy, and practical footing that keeps them moving.

Working with a treatment team under licensed clinicians, you will provide one-on-one peer support in the office and community, assist with goal setting, connect clients to supports, and ensure timely,

Qualifications

• Active Idaho PSS certification through BPA Health or Family Support Partner certification if coming from family side
• Lived experience with mental illness and/or substance use recovery
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to pass Idaho DHW background check before direct client contact
• No state or federal exclusion (OIG LEIE / SAM)
• Valid Idaho driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
• Willingness to keep certification current with CE hours (10 per year)

Responsibilities

One Love Agency is hiring a full-time Peer Support Specialist (PSS) for our Pocatello office, starting immediately.

There is a thing you can say to someone in the hardest part of their life that nobody with a degree can say: I have been where you are, and there is a way through. That sentence is the whole job. If your own recovery has become something you want to hand to somebody else, we are looking for you.

Who we are

For more than fifteen years we have walked with families through the hardest seasons of their lives. Six offices now, across Idaho and Utah. Adults in crisis. Kids and families who need someone in their corner. People finding their way back from addiction. We serve the folks other systems have the hardest time holding onto.

We run on a Hawaiian word: hānai — to take in, to raise as your own. That is how we treat our clients and it is how we treat each other. When someone joins One Love, they join a family.

We also work like a village. The peer support specialist, the case manager, the CBRS specialist, the therapist, the front desk, the biller — every one of us is standing in a circle around a client. Nobody is the star and nobody is support staff. Your lived experience is not a lesser credential here. On some days it is the one that reaches.

And we hold to three things we call the Big C's:

• Clients. They are the reason for every decision we make.
• Compliance. A note written well is proof a person was actually served. It is how we protect a client's access to care and the people who provide it. We stay at 100%.
• Community Partners. Schools, courts, the hospital, Health and Welfare, recovery programs, housing and benefits offices. Their trust is on loan.

The work

You will walk alongside adults and youth in the Portneuf Valley — sharing your own recovery where it helps, modeling that recovery is real, and helping people build the hope, self-advocacy, and practical footing that keeps them moving.

Day to day that looks like: one-on-one peer support in the office and in the community; helping someone set and hold their own recovery goals; getting people connected to natural supports, recovery community, and resources; showing up at the appointment nobody wants to go to alone; and being a steady voice when someone is deciding whether to keep going.

You will work as part of the treatment team, under supervisory protocol with our licensed clinicians, and report to our Pocatello Director with a full administrative team behind you. You will carry documentation that is timely, tied to the plan, and built to hold up under a Medicaid or IBHP review.

What we are looking for

Required

• Active Idaho Peer Support Specialist (PSS) certification through BPA Health — or Family Support Partner (FSP) certification if you are coming to us from the family side. Your certification must be current at hire and kept current the entire time you are with us.
• Lived experience — for PSS, your own experience of mental illness and/or substance use and recovery; for FSP, your experience raising a child with mental illness and navigating the child-serving systems
• High school diploma or GED
• Solid personal footing in your own recovery, and the self-awareness to know where your story helps and where it does not
• Ability to pass an Idaho Department of Health and Welfare criminal history background check and be cleared before direct client contact
• Clear of any state or federal exclusion list (OIG LEIE / SAM) — we verify at hire and monitor on an ongoing basis, as Medicaid participation requires
• Valid Idaho driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
• Willingness to keep certification current — 10 continuing education hours a year, including at least one hour of ethics

• You know this valley. You know where the meetings are, who runs them, and which door actually opens. When you make a call, people pick up.
• You hold the boundary well. You can be genuinely close to someone and still keep the line that protects you both.
• You are solid on documentation. Peer work is relational, and it still has to be written down on time and tied to the plan.
• Comfort with both adults and youth
• Bilingual or multilingual ability — a genuine gift in this role, though not required
