Job summary

Horizon House, Inc. in Georgetown, DE, is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join the ACT Alliance team on-site. You will bring lived experience to support recovery, symptom management, and empowerment for adults with serious mental illness.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the Case Management team, mentoring participants, coordinating with consumer programs, maintaining records, and promoting anti-stigma efforts. A high school diploma and ability to travel locally are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and experience with adults with severe mental illness.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with people with serious mental illness.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently and manage responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Function as an integrated team member to support recovery and empowerment.
• Serve as liaison between the team and consumer-run programs.
• Mentor participants to promote hope and recovery.
• Maintain participant records according to procedures.
• Help participants address stigma and discrimination related to mental illness.
