Job summary

Centerstone in Kirksville, MO is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to empower individuals on their recovery journey. You will help craft treatment plans, maintain open communication with referrals, and participate in staffing for continuity of care, including crisis intervention when needed.

Qualifications

• Self-identify as a current or former person of mental health or substance use services OR self-identify as a person in recovery from mental health or substance use disorder.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Complete a state-approved training program and, if required, pass a standardized examination.

Responsibilities

• Support and model recovery and resilience tailored to each individual's needs.
• Promote recovery and resilience through individual or group services.
• Foster community connections and engagement for clients.
• Assist with treatment planning and coordination with referrals.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary and ensure continuity of care.
