Job summary

Keystone in Rock Hill, SC is seeking full-time Peer Support Specialists to work varied shifts (Mon-Thu 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., Fri 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; another role Tue–Sat 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.). You will support recovery, coordinate care with the clinical team, and connect clients to housing, education, employment, and MAT services.

The role requires strong communication, experience with client groups, and engagement in required trainings and annual credentialing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least one year of active participation in a local or national recovery self-help group.
  • Completion of a 40-hour SCDHHS-approved training and passing the written exam.
  • Experience with specific client groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate recovery expertise and support others in recovery and self-directed recovery.
  • Conduct care management for patients with the clinical team through the treatment process.
  • Assess patient needs and provide access to housing, education, employment, childcare, transportation, legal services and MAT.
  • Maintain effective communication with community partners via staffing and case reviews.
  • Maintain patient records in compliance with DAODAS, DHEC, CARF, DHHS and DSS.
  • Remain current by TB screening and completing 20 hours training for credentialing annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

ABOUT US:

Keystone is a non-profit organization proudly serving the Rock Hill, South Carolina community. As an organization in accredited and licensed services, we provide comprehensive education, prevention, and treatment programs designed to empower individuals and families facing alcohol and drug related challenges. We are looking to invite a full-time, passionate, and dedicated Peer Support Specialists to work Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:0 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as well as another to work Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to join our mission-driven team and help make a meaningful impact every day.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • 1. Ability to demonstrate recovery expertise – including knowledge of approaches to support others in recovery and dual recovery – as well as the ability to demonstrate his or her own efforts at self-directed recovery.

  • 2. Conducts care management for patients in collaboration with the clinical team throughout the treatment process.

  • 3. Assesses patient needs and provides access to housing, education, employment, childcare, transportation, legal services and any other needs, including Medication Assisted Treatment.

  • 4. Maintains effective communication with community partners through staffing and case review.

  • 5. Maintains patient record in compliance with all governing bodies to include DAODAS, DHEC, CARF, DHHS (Medicaid) and DSS.

  • 7. Remains current by attending Safety, receive an annual TB screening, and mandatory 20 hours training for re-credentialing annually.

  • 9. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.



QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred; a minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.

  • One year of active participation in a local or national self-help group of recovery movement.

  • Completion of a pre-certification program: Forty hours of SCDHHS approved training and achievement of a passing score on the written certification exam.

  • Experience and training in working with specific client groups.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.

  • Proficiency with MS office computer software applications.
