Keystone Substance Abuse Services in Rock Hill, SC seeks a full-time Peer Support Specialist to work with our mission‑driven team.

You will collaborate with the clinical team, assist clients in recovery, and connect them to housing, education, employment, transportation and other supports.

Shifts run Monday–Thursday 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; another position runs Tuesday–Saturday 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or a high school diploma with relevant experience.
  • Experience facilitating recovery support and working with diverse client groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates recovery expertise and supports others in recovery and dual recovery.
  • Performs care management with the clinical team throughout treatment.
  • Assesses needs and connects clients to housing, education, employment, childcare, transportation, and other services.
  • Maintains liaison with community partners and documents in records per regulations.
  • Attends required trainings and maintains safety and credentialing standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

ABOUT US:

Keystone is a non‑profit organization proudly serving the Rock Hill, South Carolina community. As an organization in accredited and licensed services, we provide comprehensive education, prevention, and treatment programs designed to empower individuals and families facing alcohol and drug related challenges. We are looking to invite a full‑time, passionate, and dedicated Peer Support Specialists to work Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as well as another to work Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to join our mission‑driven team and help make a meaningful impact every day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to demonstrate recovery expertise – including knowledge of approaches to support others in recovery and dual recovery – as well as the ability to demonstrate his or her own efforts at self‑directed recovery.
  • Conducts care management for patients in collaboration with the clinical team throughout the treatment process.
  • Assesses patient needs and provides access to housing, education, employment, childcare, transportation, legal services and any other needs, including Medication Assisted Treatment.
  • Maintains effective communication with community partners through staffing and case review.
  • Maintains patient record in compliance with all governing bodies to include DAODAS, DHEC, CARF, DHHS (Medicaid) and DSS.
  • Remains current by attending Safety, receive an annual TB screening, and mandatory 20 hours training for re‑credentialing annually.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred; a minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.

  • One year of active participation in a local or national self‑help group of recovery movement.
  • Completion of a pre‑certification program: Forty hours of SCDHHS approved training and achievement of a passing score on the written certification exam.
  • Experience and training in working with specific client groups.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
  • Proficiency with MS office computer software applications.
