The role uses assertive engagement, harm reduction, and peer support to engage with members in community and facility settings. Requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 6 months in behavioral health or substance use fields, recovery from substance use/mental health, a valid AZ driver's license, and CPSS

The Peer Support Specialists (PSS) assigned to PCMH/OTP Community-Based Services will perform only the duties of a Peer Support Specialist addresses one-on-one support needs and provides support for day-to-day problem-solving related to normalization and reintegration into the community. The Peer Support Specialist utilizes best practices of assertive engagement, harm reduction and peer support when working to engage with members in the community and the facility. The Peer Support Specialist embraces the recovery philosophy and promotes a safe and inclusive recovery environment for clients.
