Job summary
Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) seeks a Peer Support Specialist to provide one-to-one support and help clients with day-to-day problem-solving for reintegration into the community.
The role uses assertive engagement, harm reduction, and peer support to engage with members in community and facility settings. Requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 6 months in behavioral health or substance use fields, recovery from substance use/mental health, a valid AZ driver's license, and CPSS
Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of six (6) months’ experience in Behavioral Health and/or Substance Abuse field.
- Minimum of six months recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders.
- Current AZ Driver's License (Valid and in good standing).
- Clear 39-month Motor Vehicle Record.
- CPSS certification within 90 days (3 months) of hire.
- Addiction and Substances Use Disorders certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one peer support addressing day-to-day problem-solving for community reintegration.
- Engage with clients using assertive engagement and harm reduction approaches.
- Support recovery-oriented environment in community and PCMH/OTP settings.
- Promote safe, inclusive recovery and coordinate with care teams as needed.

The Peer Support Specialists (PSS) assigned to PCMH/OTP Community-Based Services will perform only the duties of a Peer Support Specialist addresses one-on-one support needs and provides support for day-to-day problem-solving related to normalization and reintegration into the community. The Peer Support Specialist utilizes best practices of assertive engagement, harm reduction and peer support when working to engage with members in the community and the facility. The Peer Support Specialist embraces the recovery philosophy and promotes a safe and inclusive recovery environment for clients.
- Highschool diploma or GED required.
