JOIN OUR MISSION TO END HOMELESSNESS

Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, we believe everyone deserves a safe home and the opportunity to thrive. That’s why we provide long-term housing paired with on-site services that promote stability, health, and community. Our culture is rooted in dignity, respect, and shared responsibility: We practice hospitality, communicate with care, and collaborate across differences. We value lived experience, cultural responsiveness, and approaches grounded in harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, and resident choice. We look for people who are committed to safety, learning, and continuous improvement — and who bring steady, values-aligned service in moments that are complex or high-stress.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Peer Support Manager leads and strengthens Plymouth Housing’s peer support program across the organization’s housing portfolio. This role supervises Certified Peer Support Specialists and the Lead Peer Support Specialist, ensuring peer services are resident-centered and aligned with Plymouth Housing’s mission, Housing First philosophy, harm-reduction practices, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented principles.

The Peer Support Manager provides administrative and peer-support-specific supervision; supports staff development, role clarity, and ethical practice; and helps build a sustainable, organization-wide peer program. Working closely with property-based teams, Integrated Care, Resident Well-Being, and other internal and community partners, this role expands opportunities for resident connection, wellness, recovery, self-advocacy, and belonging.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and support Certified Peer Support Specialists and the Lead Peer Support Specialist across Plymouth Housing properties.
  • Provide regular administrative and peer-support-specific supervision, including reflective practice, performance feedback, documentation review, staff development, role-boundary guidance, and support with ethical questions.
  • Support staff onboarding, orientation, professional-development planning, training, retention, wellness, and team cohesion.
  • Ensure peer staff understand and practice appropriate confidentiality, consent, documentation, professional boundaries, ethical use of lived experience, and escalation procedures.
  • Promote peer-support services grounded in shared experience, mutuality, empowerment, respect, hope, self-determination, recovery, and resident choice.
  • Support peer staff in providing voluntary, relationship-based, strengths-based services that honor each resident’s culture, voice, safety, dignity, goals, and individual pathway of recovery.
  • Partner with building teams, Integrated Care, Resident Well-Being, and other departments to identify resident needs, service gaps, and opportunities for responsive peer-support programming.
  • Lead the development and implementation of resident groups, recovery activities, wellness opportunities, community-building events, and connections to internal and community resources.
  • Develop scalable peer-program tools, including supervision practices, onboarding materials, training resources, role expectations, program curricula, documentation standards, policies, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support staff in applying strengths-based practice, natural-support mapping, OARS communication skills, recovery and resilience principles, SMART Goals, self-advocacy, and appropriate story sharing.
  • Lead and support program planning, evaluation, quality-improvement efforts, and practical changes that strengthen peer services and resident well-being.
  • Collect, maintain, and review program data, staff feedback, resident feedback, service trends, and other information to identify training needs, service gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, secure records related to supervision, staff development, resident programming, training, outreach, data collection, and quality-improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders, data and evaluation partners, clinical staff, research partners, and community organizations to support program growth, learning, and effective coordination.
  • Educate staff and partners about peer support, recovery-oriented services, harm reduction, stigma reduction, and Plymouth Housing’s mission and community impact.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Maintains accurate documentation, protects confidential information, manages multiple priorities, and meets deadlines.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use databases, virtual-meeting platforms, online research tools, and other technology to support program operations.
