Job summary

Jobtailor in California seeks a motivated Peer Support Specialist to collaborate with the Program Coordinator to recruit, place and support individuals with lived experience in mental health and recovery services.

You will conduct online interviews, facilitate group meetings, mentor participants through training and placement, document interactions in the LMS, and coordinate meetings with graduates and community partners.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Lived experience as a consumer of mental health and/or recovery services.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials and regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Bilingual is preferable.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and problem solving.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear California driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Program Coordinator to support and place Peer Support Specialists with mental health and recovery providers.
  • Active recruitment of potential participants in collaboration with health partners.
  • Conduct online interviews with participants.
  • Facilitate group meetings throughout recruitment, training, and placement.
  • Support participants through mentorship and monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with community partners for placement sites.
  • Document client interactions in the LMS.
  • Coordinate meetings for participants and graduates.
