Job summary

Texas A&M International University in Laredo is seeking a Supplemental Instruction Leader I (ACE-AS) to support students in difficult courses. You will attend all class sessions, lead weekly study sessions, and work with the instructor to align content with assessments.

This role fosters active learning and student persistence. You will mentor peers, promote sessions, and provide exam reviews while maintaining attendance records and participating in ACE staff training.

Qualifications

• Current student at TAMIU with 60 SCH or more at appointment time.
• Enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours/semester) for undergrad; 3.0+ GPA for graduate.
• Maintain TAMIU GPA requirements per level and meet SAPP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Attend all assigned class sessions and model effective study behaviors.
• Plan and facilitate weekly SI sessions using collaborative learning.
• Collaborate with course faculty to align SI with lectures and assignments.
• Promote SI sessions to enrolled students and encourage participation.
• Maintain accurate attendance records for program tracking.
• Incorporate active learning techniques such as group problem solving.
• Provide exam review sessions prior to midterms and finals.
• Participate in training and ACE staff meetings; submit weekly reports.
