Job summary

Cochise College seeks a Student – Peer STEM Tutor to support the STEM Lab (Math Lab) and help students succeed by providing resources and guidance. The role fosters community among students and collaborates with staff.

Responsibilities include tutoring sessions, workshops, referrals to instructors, maintaining lab operations, attending staff trainings, and assisting with multiple projects. Ideal candidates are enrolled in Cochise College and meet GPA and credit requirements.

Qualifications

• Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer.
• Maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.
• Complete MAT 151 or higher, BIO 182 or higher, CHM 151 or higher, CIS 204 or higher, or PHY 112 or higher with grade B or better.
• F-1 visa students must enroll full-time (12 credits/sem) and six credits in the summer.

Responsibilities

• Tutor and facilitate one-on-one, group, or workshop sessions in STEM Lab/Math Lab/Online Lab.
• Refer students with major difficulty to the instructor or Math Lab Supervisor.
• Assist in maintaining STEM Lab functions.
• Attend training sessions for student staff.
• Consult designated staff regarding program responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
