Job summary

Western Tidewater Community Service Board seeks a SA Peer Specialist to support peers in the PACT Community program in Suffolk, VA. The role focuses on recovery-oriented care, consumer advocacy, and peer support in various settings.

Applicants must be credentialed for C-SAC, or QMHP or LMHP, have a valid driver’s license, and prefer experience with co-occurring disorders. Full-time benefits are included, with health and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Must be credentialed for C-SAC, or QMHP or LMHP.
• Experience working with adults with mental health or substance use disorders preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record is required.

Responsibilities

• Function as a role model to peers and provide consumer information and peer support in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Promote recovery, self-advocacy, and development of natural supports in the community.
• Assist peers toward achievement of goals identified in their ISP and support independence in community-based settings.
