Eliot Community Human Services, Inc. is seeking a committed Peer Specialist to join the Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) division. The role focuses on empowering adults with severe mental illness, supporting recovery, and working in residential or community settings with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has lived recovery experience and a strong focus on person-centered care. This is a Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm position based in Massachusetts with competitive benefits and

Qualifications

• Must have received Mental Health services in the past and have established recovery process.
• Certified Peer Specialist certification or must complete certification within six months of hire.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Empower Persons with mental illness to exercise autonomy in all aspects of their life and develop self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the Person’s perspective and preferences are included and respected.
• Provide training and consultation to staff to facilitate understanding of Person perspectives as needed.
• Provide guidance to Persons in the recovery journey and assist in intake and transition processes across services.
• Promote hope and empowerment through meetings and support with Persons and ensure Person preferences are central to care.
• Assist and encourage Persons to participate in developing treatment plans and recovery goals.
• Ensure services are culturally competent, strengths-based, recovery-focused, and inclusive of Person preferences.

Education

High School diploma or equivalence

Certified Peer Specialist certification or within 6 months of hire
