The role involves acting as a positive community role model, counseling, and peer support for residents with mental health and/or substance use diagnoses in a mixed-use affordable housing setting.

Qualified candidates have lived experience relevant to the client population, with experience assisting individuals who are homeless or in recovery.

RiseWell Community Services is seeking a Full-time Peer Specialist to join the Afoordable Housing program in Far Rockaway, NY

In this role, the Peer Specialist will provide positive role model of community functioning, counseling and peer support to others with mental health and /or substance abuse diagnoses currently living mixed use affordable housing program.

Qualifications

Lived experience relevant to client population. Relevant experience working with individuals who are homeless, in recovery from mental illness or substance abuse. Clean valid NY State Driver’s License. Fingerprinting, criminal record check, approval from NYS Office of Mental Health.
