Job summary

Aspire Health Alliance is seeking a Peer Specialist for its Adult Community Clinical Services. This part-time role offers a great opportunity to assist clients managing psychiatric symptoms through peer counseling and support. Ideal candidates will possess personal experience with mental health services and be committed to helping others on their recovery journey.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a consumer of mental health services required.
  • Bilingual skills preferred, especially with multicultural populations.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer counseling and support to clients based on common experiences.
  • Assist in treatment and provide education and crisis intervention.
  • Support clients in taking responsibility for their recovery.

Greatopportunityexists as a Peer Specialist in our Adult Community Clinical Services!

TheAdult Community Clinical Services (ACCS)assistshundreds of clients across the South Shore, who are referred by the Department of Mental Health and in need of support with their rehabilitation and recovery.TheACCS teamprovidesmulti-disciplinary support for clients managing psychiatric symptoms while living independently in apartments, family homes, shelters, and within one of14 Aspire Health Alliance staffed residences.

Responsibilities includecarryingout rehabilitation and support functions andassistingin treatment; providingeducation, support, and consultation to families; and providingcrisis intervention under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees. Provide mentor and outreach services to ACCS clients.Provides peer counseling and support, drawing on common experiences as a peer, tovalidateclients’ experiences and to provide guidance and encouragement to clients to take responsibility and actively participate in their own recovery.

Schedule:

PartTime - 20 hours a week

Monday through Friday, flexible hours between 9 am - 6 pm

Hourly Rate:$20.00

Requirements:

  • Current orpreviousexperience as a consumer of mental health servicesrequired
  • Validdriver’s license and access topersonalvehiclerequired.

  • Bilingual skills and/or experience with multicultural populationspreferred
