Job summary

Community Care Alliance is seeking a Serenity Peer Recovery Specialist (Full Time) to greet clients with empathy, assess needs, and help develop recovery plans. The role involves facilitating recovery groups and coordinating with other providers to connect clients to housing, benefits, education, and health resources.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and Peer Support Certification or willingness to pursue it.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients with unconditional positive regard and develop a trusting working alliance.

  • Coordinate care with other providers and run recovery groups for diverse populations.
  • Work late days, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed.

Job description

Serenity Peer Recovery Specialist (Full Time)

Greet clients with unconditional positive regard and develop a trusting working alliance. Evaluate client needs and contribute to the development of a person-centered recovery plan. Assist clients to access a wide array of resources, including but not limited to food, clothing, personal hygiene products, survival items, behavioral health resources, recovery resources, emergency shelter resources, benefits and entitlements, applications for SSI/SSDI/TDI, etc.; housing resources, including applications for apartments, subsidized housing, universal wait list, etc.; education/employment resources, family supports, medical providers, and resolution of legal barriers. Conduct care coordination with other providers. Run recovery groups, including those intended for individuals belonging to specialty populations: women, LGBTQ+, veterans, BIPOC, and formerly incarcerated.

Leverage personal experience to teach and role model healthy living, effective coping techniques, and self‑help strategies.

Must be willing to work some late-day, evening hours, and occasional weekend hours. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not mandatory.

Education and Training Required

High school diploma or GED required. Must have Peer Support Certification or be willing to work toward it.
