Hudson Behavioral Health in Salisbury, MD seeks a dedicated Peer Recovery Specialist to support individuals in their journey toward recovery. The role emphasizes advocacy, mentorship, and connecting clients with community resources.

The position runs Sunday to Thursday with specific hours (Sunday-Monday 7:30am-4pm; Tuesday-Thursday 12Noon-8:30pm) and includes on-call crisis response as needed. The organization offers a competitive benefits package and a mission-driven work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of personal or professional experience in Addiction.
• Peer certification or eligible to work toward within 1 year of hire date.
• Valid driver’s license with no more than 2 violations.

Responsibilities

• Relate to individuals as an advocate, promoting person-centered recovery and wellness support services.
• Serve as a voice of the individual in team/clinical meeting
• Serve as a role model.
• Meet with individuals to provide peer mentoring, linkages to resources, and share (as appropriate) his or her personal recovery story, and provide hope.
• Recognize and maintain professional and personal boundaries.
• Practice non-judgmental behavior.
• Educate through shared experiences.
• Support the development of effective communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• On call crisis intervention, including assisting in AMA blocks at all levels of care (evenings and weekends probable).
