Job summary

Ohio Department of Behavioral Health in Cincinnati is seeking a dedicated Peer Recovery Support Specialist to support Summit Behavioral Healthcare residents. The role is hourly, full-time, and focuses on promoting recovery from mental health and related challenges.

You will lead recovery-focused groups, teach coping skills, mentor clients, and connect individuals with peer services. Requires current Peer Recovery Supporter certification and offers union protections and comprehensive state

Qualifications

• Requires current certification as Peer Recovery Supporter in accordance with OAC 5122.29.15.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes personal recovery experience, when appropriate, to promote hope, encouragement, and motivation throughout the recovery process.
• Leads and coordinates recovery-focused groups, teaching coping skills, relaxation techniques, and wellness strategies.
• Mentors clients/residents through the recovery process by encouraging empowerment, goal-setting, and self-advocacy.
• Educates clients/residents on available peer services, rights processes, advance directives, and supplemental support programs.
