Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Peer Support Specialist in Norway, ME to provide one-on-one and group support, guided by CIPSS or recovery coaching principles. Provisional CIPSS may be required within 9 months, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation is needed.

The role emphasizes peer support for individuals with substance use history, active recovery, and strong computer proficiency.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Some college coursework preferred.
• License/Certifications: Completion of, or ability to complete relevant training to the position required. This may be the State of Maine Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) Certification. Provisional CIPSS Certification may be required within 9 months of start date. If CIPSS is required, the ability to maintain certification is required. Recovery Coach training may also be required upon hire or within 9 months of start date. Valid Driver’s License and vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy required.
• Experience: Experience providing one-on-one and/or group facilitation peer support preferred.
• Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Is receiving or has received services and/or supports related a history of substance use, is in active recovery and is willing to self-identify on this basis with peers and in the community. Computer proficiency required.
