Job summary

Telecare’s Recovery Center at Gresham is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach I to engage with members and support their recovery goals through compassionate conversations and coaching. The role focuses on promoting Telecare’s Recovery Culture and coordinating with the care team to personalize services for each member.

Responsibilities include responding to crises with de-escalation, maintaining engagement, and supporting clients in achieving their goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Peer Certification must be obtained prior to hire
• Oregon THW Certification prior to hire date
• One year or part-time equivalent of behavioral health support experience
• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system
• Valid driver's license with personal vehicle insurance
• Willingness to use company vehicle to transport clients

What You Will Do to Change Lives

The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served that assist the members to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Recovery Coaches provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de‑escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.

Shifts Available:

Full-Time | PM | Shifts: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM | Days: Saturday – Tuesday

Expected starting wage range is $18.69 – $22.52. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Peer Certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment
• Oregon: obtain Traditional Health Worker (THW) Certification through OHA as a Peer Support Specialist or Peer Wellness Specialist prior to hire date and maintained throughout employment.
• One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges
• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care
• Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
• Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
