Job summary

Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. in Caribou, ME is seeking a full-time Recovery Coach to support adults in an outpatient setting connected to Adult Treatment Recovery Court.

You will provide one-on-one and group peer support, helping participants move toward recovery and stability with confidentiality and collaboration with the recovery team. The role emphasizes lived experience with recovery and the criminal justice system, strong communication, and ethical boundaries.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience with a substance use disorder or insider knowledge in recovery and willingness to self-identify.
• Must have experience in or with the criminal justice system.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Recovery Coach Academy training within four months of hire.
• CCAR Ethical Considerations training or CCAR training within the first nine months.
• Monthly coachervision participation.
• Register with Maine Peer Recovery Coach Certification Board.
• Within 30 days CIPSS Pre-Training completed and submitted.
• Within 60 days begin monthly co-reflections and continue monthly until Core CIPSS training begins.
• Within 60 days attend Peer Support 101 and apply for next Core Training.

Responsibilities

• Support participants in achieving recovery and treatment goals
• Help individuals identify strengths and overcome barriers
• Connect participants with community resources and recovery supports
• Encourage self-advocacy, accountability, and personal growth
• Assist participants in navigating treatment court requirements
• Document services and maintain confidentiality
• Collaborate with treatment providers, community partners, and the recovery court team
