Job summary

Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is the largest network of Joint Commission-accredited treatment centers dedicated to helping individuals overcome substance use disorders. With over 115 locations, our team carries a mission to support recovery and independence for patients across communities.

The Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) reports to the Program Director and builds trust with patients, aiding in their recovery journey using WRAP and other resources.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in behavioral health.
• Peer Recovery or Peer Recovery Coach certification preferred.
• High School degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical support, mentoring, advocacy, and problem-solving.
• Educate patients and families on mental illness and addiction.
• Collect and report data as required.
• Assist patients in setting and achieving recovery goals.
• Support patients in joining and sustaining self-help groups.
• Collaborate with treatment teams on recovery plans.
• Help patients develop empowerment skills and combat stigma.

Skills

Behavioral health experience

Peer Recovery certification preferred
