Job summary

Porter-Starke Services is seeking a compassionate Peer Recovery Coach to support individuals recovering from substance use disorders. You will use personal recovery experience to help clients build resources and connect with community support networks and navigate the recovery process.

Join a nonprofit health center with offices in Northwest Indiana, including Valparaiso, and contribute to a team that values client-centered care, advocacy, and collaborative case planning.

Qualifications

• Must be in long-term recovery for a minimum of three years and have documentation to support this.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Peer Recovery Coach Certification course required.
• One year of peer coaching or related experience preferred.
• Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in understanding and managing their disorder and symptoms.
• Connect clients to available community resources and advocate for their needs.
• Provide support and guidance to clients as they navigate the recovery process.
• Maintain close working relationships with management staff, co-workers, and peers.
• Act as an informant and advocate to clients regarding consumer rights and responsibilities.
• Participate in team staffings to provide client and peer insight.
