Job summary

Baltic Street Wellness Solutions is seeking a Full Time Mental Health Bronx Peer Advocate in The Bronx, NY to support participants with peer-led services and empowerment strategies.

The role will develop and lead self-help groups, provide individual services, and train new group leaders while coordinating with housing, education, medical, social, financial, and housing supports. Adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year or more experience working as a peer.
• Certified with the Academy of Peer Services or completion of certification within 6 months of employment.
• Bi-lingual preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Teach and model recovery and self-help principles.
• Provide psychiatric rehabilitation interventions to individuals and collaterals.
• Protect consumer rights and confidentiality under HIPAA.
• Maintain an ongoing client caseload with direct services.
• Attend staff meetings and present cases as needed.
• Work on site and off site as required.
• Coordinate linkages and referrals to housing, education, medical, and social services.
• Document program records promptly in the AWARDS Database.
