Job summary

NYC Criminal Justice Agency in Long Island City, Queens is seeking a Peer Coordinator for the Queens Supersvised Release Program to support a team of Certified Peer Specialists and coordinate services for participants in need. The role emphasizes recovery-oriented, trauma-informed support and close collaboration with court and community partners.

The successful candidate will work Monday–Friday 9–5, travel within the five boroughs, and be present in person five days a week to advance pretrial

Qualifications

• HS diploma required; some college preferred.
• OASAS/OMH Peer Specialist Certification required; CPS within year if needed.
• 3 years of peer experience in behavioral health or criminal justice settings required.
• Lived recovery experience and willingness to use it to support others.
• Strong person-centered, recovery-oriented practice knowledge.
• Experience with online communication tools (Teams/Zoom).
• Bilingual skills preferred; Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, French-Creole a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship to a team of Certified Peer Specialists.
• Assist in coordination and administrative duties including referrals and court-related cases.
• Conduct quarterly chart reviews and track outcomes of referrals.
• Develop and facilitate recovery groups; assist onboarding of new staff.
• Maintain adherence to policies and serve as liaison with external organizations.
• Manage a small caseload with complex needs; provide advocacy and recovery support.
