Job description

Pediatrician opportunity in Surprise, AZ

We are seeking a Pediatrician to join our growing team of Pediatric Physicians providing comprehensive primary health care services through the identification, management, and/or referral of health problems and the maintenance of the client's health by means of preventive care and health promotion. The role involves performing a range of assignments, from routine to exceptional, with minimal guidance, in accordance with clinic practices and procedures.

Position Responsibilities

  • Report to the Regional Medical Director
  • Provide accessible and available health services to patients within your credentialed and privileged scope
  • Educate and communicate effectively with patients regarding diagnosis, treatment, preventive measures, and healthcare system navigation
  • Deliver treatment based on clinical impressions and working diagnoses
  • Ensure accurate and timely electronic medical record entries
  • Transfer information adequately for continuity of care
  • Evaluate patients courteously and professionally in a timely manner
  • Complete all required documentation for billing
  • Familiarity with EPSDT statutes, immunization schedules, and contraindications
  • Promote excellent customer service to both external and internal customers
  • Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines involved in patient care
  • Advise management on performance issues of medical auxiliary personnel
  • Perform duties of other clinical personnel as necessary
  • Participate in rotating call for emergencies during evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Attend CME programs (up to 40 hours annually) and maintain credentialing and privileging in good standing

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited US Pediatric Residency
  • Board certified or eligible
  • Valid Arizona medical license
  • Valid DEA certificate
  • Current BLS certification
  • Understanding of clinical methods and techniques
  • Effective communication skills with clients, colleagues, and the public
  • Proficiency in basic business English, spelling, and punctuation
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid AZ driver's license
  • Commitment to our mission, vision, and values
  • Ability to work with diverse cultures and social backgrounds
  • CPR and AED certification through American Heart Association or Red Cross courses
  • Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety

Nonessential Skills and Experience

  • Three years of experience in community health
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred)
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
